PDF to test: how to turn documents into assessments

A lot of class material already lives in PDFs: handouts, book chapters, articles, summaries. The hard part is turning that into an assessment — which usually means rereading everything and writing the questions by hand.

With FormsFlow, the PDF becomes your starting point. The AI reads the document and proposes questions that you review and export to Google Forms.

Why start from a PDF

When a test grows out of the material your class actually studied, it stays coherent. Instead of inventing random questions, the AI grounds itself in your document — so the questions reflect what you taught.

Besides PDF, FormsFlow also accepts Word (DOCX) and TXT files, up to 10 MB.

Step by step

  1. Upload the PDF in the FormsFlow chat.
  2. Say what you want: “generate 10 multiple-choice questions on chapters 1 and 2, medium difficulty.”
  3. Review the questions and adjust anything through the chat.
  4. Export to Google Forms with one click — the form is created in your Google account.

Tips for a better result

  • Be specific about scope: point to chapters, sections, or topics for the AI to focus on.
  • Choose the question types: multiple choice, true/false, open-ended.
  • Set the level: ask for simpler questions for review or harder ones for a final exam.
  • Refine in the chat: ask to swap, simplify, or deepen specific questions.

What happens after you export

The test becomes a regular Google Form, in your account. You can turn on automatic quiz grading, edit any question, and track responses in your Google Drive. Nothing is locked inside a closed platform.
