How to create tests in Google Forms with AI — step by step

Writing a good test takes work: you reread the material, think up questions, write the options, and then build the whole thing in Google Forms. FormsFlow shortens that path. You describe what you need, and the AI writes the questions, sets up the form, and exports it straight to your Google Forms account.

This guide walks through the steps — and the best part: you can try it without signing up.

1. Start from content you already have

You don’t have to start from scratch. FormsFlow accepts four kinds of input:

  • Text: describe the topic, the grade level, and how many questions you want.
  • PDF or Word (DOCX): upload the chapter, handout, or summary (up to 10 MB).
  • YouTube video: paste a link to a lesson or documentary and the AI uses the captions as a base.
  • Voice dictation: speak your instruction instead of typing it.

The idea is simple: start from your actual class material, not a generic template.

2. Describe the assessment you want

The more specific the request, the better the result. Instead of “make a history test,” try:

“Create a test about the Industrial Revolution for 9th grade, with 8 multiple-choice questions and 2 open-ended ones, medium difficulty.”

The AI is tuned for an educational context, so it understands requests about difficulty level, question type, and learning objective.

3. Review before you export

The AI builds the base — you stay in control. Read the questions, adjust anything, and ask for changes in the chat (“swap question 3 for a harder one,” “add a question about causes”). Nothing is published without your review.

4. Export to your Google Forms

With one click, the test becomes a Google Form in your own account. From there it’s the Google Forms you already know: you can edit any question, turn on automatic quiz grading, send it to your class, and see responses in your Google Drive. Your data stays with you.

Frequently asked questions
